This page is for whoever runs the store. It is not visible to customers. Everything below is done inside Shopify admin, and none of it needs a developer.
Change a price
Products > pick the product > Price > Save.
The price also appears in the big text on the home page, and that copy is in the theme, not in the product. So when you change a price, tell whoever looks after the site so the home page matches. The prices written into the home page today are $1,899 (bike), $649 (battery), $89 (charger), $119 (rack), From $19 (parts).
Change a product photo
Products > pick the product > Media. Drag a new photo in, drag it to the front to make it the main one, and delete the old one. Square photos on a plain white background work best. The first photo is the one that shows in the cart and in search results.
The photos on the home page are separate from the product photos. Changing a product photo does not change the home page. Ask whoever looks after the site to swap those.
Edit one of the six Learn Centre guides
Content > Blog posts > pick the guide > edit the text > Save.
The six guides are Electric Bike Buying Guide, E-Bike Laws in Canada, How Far Can an E-Bike Actually Go, E-Bike Battery Guide, Fat Tire vs Regular E-Bike, and Winter Riding in Canada. They all live in the blog called Learn Centre.
Two things to know:
- The E-Bike Laws in Canada guide is dated. It says "Last checked against government sources on 22 August 2026." If you check the provincial rules again, change that date. If you have not checked, leave it alone. An out of date law page with a fresh date on it is worse than no date.
- The order the guides appear in is set by their publish date and time. To move one up the list, give it an earlier date under Visibility.
Add a new guide
Content > Blog posts > Add blog post. Set the blog to Learn Centre. Under Theme template, choose guide. That is what makes it look like the rest of the site instead of a plain blog post. Fill in the Search engine listing box at the bottom with a title and a one sentence description.
Write the answer in the first paragraph, then explain. That is how the other six are written and it is why they will do well in search.
Change the black bar at the top of the page
It currently says "Free shipping across Canada on every electric bike". That text is in the theme on the home page and in the theme settings for the other pages, so ask whoever looks after the site to change it in both places.
Change the store policies
Settings > Policies. Privacy, Terms, Refund and Shipping are all there. They are linked from the bottom of every page, so whatever you write there is what customers see.
Change shipping charges
Settings > Shipping and delivery. Today Canada is set to $12 standard, free once the order is $75 or more, and $20 express. That is why a bike ships free and a set of brake pads does not.
Take the store out of password mode
Online Store > Preferences > Restrict access to visitors with the password. Untick it and the store is live. The password today is T3mp4567.
Two things to fix before going live
- The store is still named "e-bikes". Settings > Store details > Store name. Change it to Blackrock eBikes. Until that is done, the word "e-bikes" shows in the checkout page title and in the emails customers get after they order.
- Check every price and the support email address with the owner before the password comes off.
